Two Arrested in Weekend Robbery Spree

(Edgewood MD) — Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested Jason Raab, 19 of the 800 block of Schumaker Street in Salisbury and Blaine Blackburn Jr., 18 of the 1700 block of Eloise Lane in Edgewood and charged both men with numerous counts of armed robbery and theft as the result of a Sunday morning robbery spree of two Edgewood area Royal Farms stores.

The first robbery at 2603 Philadelphia Road was reported shortly after 3:00 AM on Sunday morning when two white males entered the store with bandanas covering their faces. One of the males approached the sales counter displayed a handgun and demanded money and cigarettes. The clerk complied with the demand and handed over money from the register and cartons of cigarettes. The second suspect stood back from the first and was handed back the cartons of cigarettes. Both suspects then left the store and were seen driving away in a light colored four-door sedan.

The second robbery was reported at 3:45 AM at the Royal Farm Store located at 630 Edgewood Road. The suspect’s descriptions were almost identical, a handgun was again displayed and the suspects demanded money from the register and cigarettes. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money and cigarette cartons the suspects were last seen fleeing the store on foot.

While responding to the second robbery Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle parked at the Edgewood McDonalds at the corner of Pulaski Highway and Edgewood Road. The vehicle was occupied by four individuals with two of them being identified as Raab and Blackburn. All four occupants were detained and subsequently interviewed by Sheriff’s Detectives. Detectives also seized the suspects’ vehicle as evidence.

From information gathered through interviews and physical evidence recovered both Raab and Blackburn were charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of robbery, and two counts of theft. Both subjects have received a bond review before a District Court Judge and are being held in the Harford County Detention Center on $100,000 bond.
