Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested

Citizen Involvement Leads to Apprehension

(Darlington, MD) — Harford County Sheriff’s deputies have charged three people with armed robbery after they were caught robbing a local gas station. Thomas Richard Hoerr 3rd, 21, of 537 Chestnut Hill Road, Forest Hill; Jason Matthew Beall, 23, of 50 Cambell Ct. Conowingo, Maryland, and Kristy Nicole Kohler, 20, 1634 Kreitler Valley Road, Forest Hill, Maryland, have each been charged with armed robbery, robbery and theft over $500.

On Sunday, February 29, 2004 at 4:40pm, Sheriff’s deputies responded to an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Citgo Convenience Store, 3940 Conowingo Road, Darlington, Maryland. Upon arrival deputies were advised the clerk had waited on a customer who had asked to purchase a pack of cigarettes. When the clerk asked for identification the male suspect pulled up his shirt displaying the butt of a handgun. He then demanded the clerk to given him all of the money. After being given the cash the suspect got into a black Pontiac Sunbird and fled the area.

Witnesses to the robbery reported seeing another male and female inside the suspect vehicle. One witness was able to obtain a tag number to the car. After obtaining vehicle information deputies then responded to 1634 Kreitler Valley Road, the address where the vehicle was registered. Dfc Justin Blubaugh and Dfc Steven Poort set up surveillance in the area and observed the car enter the community. The officers stopped the car taking all three suspects into custody. A Daisy B-B gun (handgun) was found under the front seat of the vehicle. Witnesses who saw them at the scene o the robbery identified the suspects.

Deputies credit witnesses with helping to solve this case. Witnesses near the scene but not directly connected to the crime observed the car and its occupants to be acting suspicious and driving erratically. They took note of what they saw and then brought it to the attention of deputies when they learned a robbery had occurred. They noted the vehicle description, including the tag number, and direction of travel. The suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Hoerr is being held in the Harford County Detention Center lieu of $30,000 bail. Beall is being held on $5,000, and Kohler is being held on $3000.
