Fallen Heroes Mural Unveiling and Presentation

Art students from the Bel Air High School will unveil and present two murals they have painted honoring local fallen law enforcement and corrections officers to Sheriff Jesse Bane on Wednesday June 19th at 2pm. The 4'x8' and 4'x6' murals include tributes to 5 Sheriff's deputies who have lost their lives since the 1800's and will be displayed at the Sheriff's Office headquarters on Main St. and at the Harford County Detention Center. Bel Air High School Art teacher Karen Ballard and Sheriff's deputy, Shawn Forton, a recognized artist, worked with the students who painted these murals which included taking them on a field trip to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington. Weather permitting the event will take place on the front steps to the Sheriff's Office. In case of rain, the event will move inside to the first floor conference room.
