Attempted Bank Robbery at the Sovereign Bank in Bel Air

[April 27, 2013, Bel Air, MD] - On Saturday, April 27, 2013 Harford County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 1800 block of Emmorton Road for an Attempted Robbery call at the Sovereign Bank.

Information received from responding Deputies was that at approximately 9:01 A.M., a white male suspect wearing blue jeans, a plaid shirt, dark hat, dusk mask, and sun glasses attempted to rob the Sovereign Bank at 1816 Emmorton Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014. The bank manager at that location reported that as she was attempting to open the bank doors for business, the suspect, who was hiding in the bushes, rushed towards her displaying a black handgun. The bank manager was able to secure the inner door of the bank and the suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction without taking any currency.

No further information is available at this time. The bank manager remained unscathed.
