Sheriff's Office Graduates News Recruits

15 New Police Officers Begin the Law Enforcement Career Today

[January 4, 2013, Bel Air, Maryland]: The Harford County Sheriff's Office Training Academy recently graduated 15 new police recruits, 12 of which will begin their law enforcement careers with the Sheriff's Office. On Wednesday January 2, 2013, graduation ceremonies for the 15 new recruits culminated a 26-week training curriculum that began on June 26, 2012. Approximately 200 people attended the commencement exercises held at John Carroll High School and watched as the officers were sworn in, presented with their diplomas and congratulated by Sheriff L. Jesse Bane. Prior to the graduation each recruit participated in a pining ceremony where they received their official badge of office from a family member, friend or mentor. The guest speaker for the evening was retired Harford County Sheriff's Office Major Jordan V. Watts, a 30 year veteran of the Harford County Sheriff's Office, who is now an attorney with the Baltimore County Office of Law. The following officers received their diplomas:
