Traffic Delays expected for Sergeant Loughran’s Funeral

[September 16, 2012, Bel Air, MD] — The Harford County Sheriff's Office is advising the public of potential traffic delays on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 for the funeral procession of Harford County Sheriff's Office deputy, Sergeant Ian Loughran, who died in the line of duty on September 13, 2012.

Funeral Services are scheduled to be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Mountain Christian Church's New Life Center located at 1824 Mountain Road in Joppa MD. The funeral procession will leave the church at approximately 12:30PM and travel to Highview Memorial Gardens located at 3433 Fallston Road in Fallston, MD where it can be expected to arrive at approximately 1:00pm.

Funeral Procession Route

  • Head northwest on MD-152/Mountain Road toward Stockton Road.
  • Continue along MD-152/Mountain Road for approximately 10.3 miles.
  • Highview Memorial Gardens will be on the right.

 

Residents can expect traffic delays, road closures and a high volume of traffic between the hours of 10am – 3pm, along Mountain Road and those roads that feed into Mountain Road from the Jerusalem Road to Charles Street in Fallston.

Staging and set up in conjunction with funeral activities may be seen beginning as early as 6:30am at Mountain Christian Church and Highview Memorial Gardens.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office is asking that residents plan travel times accordingly on Wednesday, September 19th and if possible avoid travel in this area between the hours of 10am- 3pm. The public's patience and cooperation is appreciated in this endeavor.


Sgt Loughran # 463, was a 16 year veteran of the Harford County Sheriff's Office. He was most recently assigned to the Police Services Bureau, Patrol Division, Northern Precinct. He was married and had one child. View our news release.
