Traffic Delays expected for Corporal Licato's Funeral

[September 10, 2012, Bel Air, MD] — The Harford County Sheriff's Office is advising the public of potential traffic delays on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 for the funeral procession of Harford County Sheriff's Office deputy, Corporal Charles B Licato, who died in the line of duty on September 6, 2012.

Funeral Services are scheduled to be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Mountain Christian Church's New Life Center located at 1824 Mountain Road in Joppa MD. The funeral procession will leave the church at approximately 12:30PM and travel to Bel Air Memorial Gardens located at 809 Rock Spring Road in Bel Air MD where it can be expected to arrive at approximately 1pm.

Funeral Procession Route

  • Depart Mountain Christian Church and travel Northbound on Mountain Road (MD Route 152)
  • Make a right turn onto Northbound Bel Air Road (US Route 1)
  • Continue onto Route 1 Bypass
  • Take Exit ramp to Southbound Rock Spring Road
  • Make a left turn into the first entrance of Bel Air Memorial Gardens

 

Residents can expect traffic delays, road closures and a high volume of traffic on Mountain Road, Route 1, Rock Spring Road and Moores Mill Road between the hours of 10am – 3pm.

Staging and set up in conjunction with funeral activities may be seen beginning as early as 6:30am at Mountain Christian Church and Bel Air Memorial Gardens.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office is asking that residents plan travel times accordingly on Wednesday, September 12th. The public's patience and cooperation is appreciated in this endeavor.


Corporal Charles B. Licato #553, age 34 of Cecil County, MD died in a single car motor vehicle crash that occurred in the 4800 block of Conowingo Road in Darlington, MD shortly after 2:00 am on Thursday, September 6, 2012. View our news release.
