Double Fatal Crash in Fallston
(May 8, 2012 – Fallston, MD) At approximately 10am on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, Harford County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on Rte. 152 (Mountain Road) near Reckord Road in Fallston, MD.
The crash involved three vehicles and four persons. The first vehicle, a Harford County Public School work vehicle, was driven by Don Jones Jr, age 59 of Bel Air, MD. Jones' co-worker, David M Walter, age 36 also of Bel Air MD was a passenger in the vehicle. The second vehicle a 2012 GMC Terrain was driven by Ronald W. Buchholz Jr, age 46 of Essex, MD. The third vehicle involved, a 1994 Jeep Wrangler was driven by Michael A. Euler Sr., age 51 of Fallston.
Preliminary investigation determined that the Harford County Public School work vehicle was traveling northbound on Rte. 152 when for unknown reasons it crossed over into the south bound lane of Rte. 152 and struck the 2012 GMC Terrain which was traveling southbound on Rte. 152. The 1994 Jeep Wrangler which was also traveling southbound on Rte. 152 struck the rear of the 2012 GMC Terrain.
The driver of the 2012 GMC Terrain, Ronald W. Buchholz Jr was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Harford County Public School work vehicle, Don Jones Jr, was transported by ambulance to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. The passenger in the Harford County Public School work vehicle, David Walter, was transported by ambulance to University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma. He was treated and released before 8pm on May 8, 2012. The driver of the 1994 Jeep Wrangler, Michael A Euler Sr., was flown to University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma. As of 8pm on May 8th, he was listed to be in serious condition.
Traffic was detoured on Rte. 152 (Mountain Road) from Singer Road to Rte. 1 (Bel Air Road) from 10am until approximately 3:30pm.
