Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Carrs Mill Road

[Fallston, MD, November 27, 2011] – At approximately 10:55am on Sunday, November 27, 2011, Harford County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a fatal accident involving a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle and a 2004 Honda Civic that occurred in the 1700 block of Carrs Mill Road in Fallston, MD. The motorcycle was operated by Adam Charles Wyatt, age 29, of the 500 block of Chrome Road in Rising Sun, MD. The Honda Civic was operated by Dennis Theodore Keeney 3rd, age 20, of the 6600 block of Blackhead Road in Middle River MD.

Preliminary investigation by the Harford County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit determined that the motorcycle was traveling northbound in the 1700 block of Carrs Mill Road near the intersection of Wildwood Drive, when the operator of the motorcycle, descended a hill, entered a curve and was ejected when he lost control of the motorcycle. Both motorcycle and rider slid along the roadway crossing into the southbound lane of Carrs Mill Road and were struck by the 2004 Honda Civic driven by Keeney, who was unable to stop in time to avoid impact. The driver of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The driver of the Civic was wearing a seat belt. There was no presence or odor of alcohol detected on either driver.

As EMT's and paramedic personnel from Fallston Volunteer Fire Company assessed the operator of the motorcycle, Wyatt, it was rapidly determined that he had suffered multi-system trauma. He was pronounced deceased by the Fallston Volunteer Fire Company paramedic on scene.

Preliminary investigation determined that the motorcycle was the at fault driver in the accident, however as in all fatal motor vehicle accidents, the States Attorney's Office will review the investigation to determine if any charges will be filed.
