TRAFFIC ALERT - Roads Closed Due to Large Funeral

(Abingdon, MD) — The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a TRAFFIC ALERT for Friday, February 25, 2005, between 8:00am and 12 noon. Funeral services for long-time Abingdon Volunteer Firefighter Charles Riley will be held at this time. Mr. Riley was well known throughout Maryland for his work in the volunteer fire service at state and local levels and a large turnout is expected. Additionally, fire companies from throughout the state are expected to attend bringing with them fire engines, which will be part of the funeral procession. Police officers will be stationed at various traffic posts to redirect motorists. Residents and motorists in Abingdon will experience traffic delays in the general area. The Sheriff’s Office is strongly encouraging motorists to avoid the following roads, which will be shut down beginning at 8:00am Friday morning and remain so until noon.
