Bank Robbery Suspects Captured
(Harford County, MD – February 10, 2009) – Harford County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested Patrick Leon Dixon III, 20, of the 14300 block of Poplar Street, Goldsboro, MD and Keith Burton Osterman, 26, of the 25800 block of Sennett Road, Denton, MD in connection with the Cecil Bank Robbery that occurred on February 9, 2009.
On Monday, February 9, 2009 at 12:37 p.m., deputies responded to the Cecil Bank in the 1600 block of Pulaski Highway, Havre De Grace, MD in reference to a reported armed robbery. A white male suspect entered the bank displaying a sawed off shot gun and handed a note to the teller demanding money. The suspect was further described as approximately five feet eight inches tall, 170 lbs, wearing black sweat pants and a gray shirt last seen leaving the area in a red pick up truck.
Moments later, Havre De Grace Police Officers located and stopped the truck in the area of Martha Lewis Boulevard and Route 40. The driver was identified as Keith Burton Osterman and the passenger was identified as Patrick Leon Dixon. Both suspects were detained and after further questioning admitted to their involvement in the robbery. In addition, they further admitted to their involvement in the robbery of the Cecil Federal Bank in Elkton, MD, which occurred on Friday, February 6, 2009.
Both Dixon and Osterman were arrested and transported to the Harford County Detention Center for processing. They are charged as follows:
- Patrick Leon Dixon III: armed robbery, assault 1st degree, assault 2nd degree, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and theft over $500.00.
- Keith Burton Osterman: armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, conspiracy to commit theft over $500.00 and theft over $500.00.
Both Osterman and Dixon are being held in lieu of $150,000 bond. A bond review is scheduled for Tuesday February 10, 2009.
