Shooting Suspect and Victim Sought

(Darlington, MD) — Harford County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting incident that occurred during the early morning hours of Monday, January 10, 2005 in the 700 block of Darlington Road. A third party witness first notified Sheriff’s detectives of the incident at approximately twelve noon on Monday. The witness reported that William James Mitchell, 23 and Tesheka Smythe, 26 were involved in a verbal argument when Mitchell shot Smythe. The witness then left the residence out of fear to return several hours later to find Williams and Smythe gone. Sheriff’s Office detectives have recovered woman’s bloody clothing and other evidence from the house that would indicate that a shooting had taken place.

At the present time detectives have exhausted all known leads in the attempt to locate the suspect or victim. Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating both Mitchell and Smythe. The Sheriff’s Office currently holds an arrest warrant for Mitchell charging him with attempted 1st degree murder on the witness. Mitchell is believed to be operating a light green two door 1992 Geo Storm with tinted windows displaying Maryland tag 01481NG. Mitchell is described as a 23 year old white male with dirty blonde hair, height 5’-8” weighing 130 lbs. Smythe is described as 26 year old light skinned black female with brown hair, height 5’-7” weighing 150lbs.
