Shooting Suspect Captured

(Harford County, MD – August 20, 2008) — Waymond Lee Harrison, Jr., 26, of the 100 block of Lion Head Court, Baltimore, MD, wanted on charges of attempted 1st degree murder, attempted 2nd degree murder, assault in the 1st degree, assault in the 2nd degree, reckless endangerment, and using a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence, was arrested on Friday, August 15, 2008 at approximately 8:00 pm in Georgia.

On May 15, 2008, Harford County Sheriff’s detectives charged Harrison in connection with a shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Edgewater Drive, Edgewood, MD. At approximately 1:39 am on March 27, 2008 deputies responded to a 911 call in the 1900 block of Edgewater Drive, Edgewood, MD in reference to an assault. Harford County Sheriff’s deputies determined Gary Dashon Davenport, 28, of Edgewood, MD had sustained gunshot wounds to his body. He was treated at the scene by members of the Abingdon Volunteer Fire Department and transported by Maryland State Police Medivac to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

The Maryland State Police Apprehension Unit, assisted by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and the South East Regional Fugitive Task Force in Georgia, arrested Harrison without incident at a family member’s home on Trayton Way, in Hiram, Georgia.

Harrison waived extradition and was transported back to Harford County by the Maryland State Police Apprehension Unit on Saturday August 16, 2008. He is currently being held without bond at the Harford County Detention Center.
