Murder Suspect Captured

(Harford County, MD – August 6, 2008) – Gary Dashawn Davenport, 29 of the 1700 block of Fountain Rock Way, Edgewood, MD, wanted on charges of 1st degree murder, attempted 1st degree murder, 1st degree assault, reckless endangerment, and using a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence was arrested earlier today in South Carolina.

Harford County Sheriff’s deputies requested the assistance of the Maryland State Police Apprehension Unit. Assisted by the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Maryland State Troopers arrested Davenport without incident at a family members home in the 1100 block of Sanders Drive, Pinewood, SC.

On June 14, 2008, Harford County Sheriff’s deputies have identified Davenport as a suspect in connection with the shooting death of Taurean Philip Williams, 18, of Edgewood, MD and the shooting of Timothy Patrick Williams, 20, of Edgewood, MD.

Davenport has waived extradition and is being transported back to Harford County.
