Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) FY08 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program: Local Solicitation 2008-F6280-MD-DJ

(Bel Air, MD – July 29, 2008) The Harford County Sheriff Office applied for a federally funded grant to assist them with Sheriff’s L. Jesse Bane’s proactive crime initiative: Harford County Safe Zone: Reducing Crime along the Route 40 corridor.

The grant requested $14,839.00 is to be used for overtime to assist the Sheriff’s Office with staffing of the Sheriff’s Office Mobile Precinct as well as conducting proactive mobile and foot patrols in targeted areas along the Route 40 corridor.

As part of the grant application process, the Sheriff’s Office is required to hold a public review and comment session. The Planning and Research Unit will hold this public review and comment session on Tuesday, Aug 19, 2008 between 4:00pm and 6:00pm at the Harford County Sheriff's Office Headquarters Building located at 45 S. Main Street Bel Air, Maryland 21014.
