Contraband Leads to Prisoner's Death
(Bel Air, MD – May 31, 2008) — Harford County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death of Justin Eugene Bolden, 25, of the 2700 block of Forge Hill Road, Bel Air, MD.
A Circuit Court Warrant was issued for Bolden’s arrest on Thursday May 29, 2008 for violation of his probation conditions. On Friday May 30, 2008 at 8:11 pm, deputies located and arrested Bolden without incident at the WAWA in the 3500 block of Conowingo Road, Street, MD and transported him to the Processing Center in Bel Air, MD.
While at the Processing Center, officers were conducting a thorough search of Bolden when he became non-compliant in an attempt to conceal drugs. During a struggle with officers Bolden was able to ingest an unknown quantity of cocaine causing what appeared to be an obstruction of his airway. Within moments, Bolden appeared to be in distress and an ambulance was requested. While waiting for the ambulance several officers and nurses at the Processing Center rendered aid attempting to dislodge the obstruction without success.
Bolden was transported by the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Department to the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center where he later died.
