Strong Arm Robbery in the Belcamp/Riverside Area

(Belcamp, MD – April 23, 2008) — Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a strong armed robbery that occurred on Tuesday, April 22nd at approximately 6:30pm. The incident occurred in the 1300 block of Riverside Parkway in Belcamp, MD on a bike trail between Riverside Parkway and Church Creek Road. The victim, an off duty Harford County Sheriff’s Deputy was approached and physically assaulted and robbed by two men, while he was walking to the local gas station.

Deputies canvassed the area for the suspects with no results. Both suspects are described as black men approximately 6” tall in height and weighing between 170- 190 lbs. The first suspect was described as wearing a black tee-shirt; the second a yellow tee-shirt. Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 410-836-5430. Additionally Harford County Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the assault. To be eligible for the reward, tipsters must call the 24-hour tip-line at 1-888-540-TIPS. Callers do not have to give their name nor appear in court. All information will be kept strictly confidential.

Do not take shortcuts through vacant lots. Stay away from doorways and shrubbery. Whenever possible, do not walk alone. Use the buddy system or walk in groups.
