Edgewood Man Shot After Dispute over a Woman

(Edgewood, MD – February 27, 2008) — Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 700 block of Sequoia Drive in Edgewood after a 911 call had been received indicating a male had been shot. Upon deputies’ arrival, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso area. Deputies’ administrated aid to the victim until members of the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company arrived on scene to assume treatment of the victim.

Through investigation, deputies discovered that the victim was shot after he and the suspect became involved in a heated argument regarding a disrespectful comment concerning the suspect’s girlfriend. The argument occurred along the roadway of Sequoia Drive. The gunshot victim, identified as Curtis James Dewitt Suggs, 22, of the 200 block of Red Bud Road in Edgewood, was subsequently transported to Johns Hopkins at Bayview by ambulance. He is listed in serious but stable condition.

Located a short distance from the scene by deputies, the suspect, identified as Eduardo Monzon German, 29, of the 700 block of Sequoia Drive was taken into custody. He was charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Dangerous Weapon with Intent to Injure, Dangerous Weapon-Conceal, and Handgun Use – Felony Violent Crime. German is being held without bond at the Harford County Detention Center. On unrelated charges, German is also being held with no bond on a Harford County Circuit Court warrant for Violation of Probation.
