Edgewood Youth Wounded in Shooting

(Edgewood, MD – October 18, 2007) — Shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday October 17, 2007 Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies assigned to the Community Action Response Team and the Gang Suppression Unit were leaving their office located in the Windsor Valley Community in Edgewood when they heard gun shots in the area. The deputies were approached by several residents advising someone had been shot on Meadowood Drive.

When deputies arrived in the 500 block of Meadowood Drive they located a 17 year old male victim lying in the roadway with a gun shot to the abdomen. Deputies administrated aid to the victim until members of Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company arrived on the scene and assumed treatment of the victim. The victim was subsequently flown by Maryland State Police Aviation Unit to Johns Hopkins at Bayview where he is listed in stable condition.

Following the shooting three black males were seen running from the area. The black males were described as wearing blue jeans with white tee shirts and black bandanas.

Investigators with the Harford County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact investigators at 410-836-5428. Additionally, Harford County Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for committing this crime.
