Sheriff's Deputies Nab Car Thieves During Early Morning Hours
(Harford County, MD – September 12, 2007) — Harford County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested five area youths in connection with the theft of a 2003 Toyota truck reported stolen to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday September 9, 2007.
Earlier this morning deputies observed a light colored BMW, a dark green Toyota truck and a black Mazda Truck traveling southbound on Emmorton Road near Ring Factory Road at a speed higher than the posted speed limit. Deputies lost sight of the BMW and Mazda truck. The Toyota truck turned onto Patterson Mill Road and the occupants jumped out of the vehicle running from the area on foot. After a search five juvenile suspects were located walking in the Emmorton Road area and were subsequently arrested and charged with the theft of the Toyota truck. The BMW sedan was also located in the 1500 block of Westminster Court in Bel Air and determined to be reported stolen through Bel Air Police Department.
All five juveniles arrested were males consisting of two 17 year olds, a 15 year old and a 14 year old all residing in Joppa and a 14 year old from Abingdon. The juveniles were release from custody pending their arraignment through the Department of Juvenile Services on theft of motor vehicle charges.
