Fatal Motorcycle Crash Leaves Two Dead

(Fallston, MD – August 26, 2007) — The Harford County Sheriff Office Traffic Unit is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash which occurred late Saturday August 25, 2007, in the 3000 block of Charles Street in Fallston. Deputies responded to the area around noon today after a 911 caller observed two bodies lying in a field along with the motorcycle.

Upon arrival deputies attempted to render aid but discovered the victims were decreased with indications the crash had occurred hours before it was discovered. The vehicle involved in the accident was a 1986 Yamaha Fazer motorcycle. The preliminary investigation indicated the motorcycle was being operated at a high speed and the driver loss control of the vehicle on a curve portion of the roadway. Both occupants were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

The operator of the motorcycle has been identified as Darius Christian Hook, age 36, of the 2000 block of Durham Road in Fallston. The passenger has been identified as Amber Lynn Kashner, age 28, 1500 block of Taylor Avenue in Baltimore.

Both bodies were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
