Out of State Trio Charged with Kidnapping
(Harford County, MD – June 13, 2007) — On Tuesday June 13, 2007, shortly after 11:30 a.m. the Harford County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a female advising a friend was being held against her will by her boyfriend and being forced to travel to New York City in the immediate future. The caller supplied deputies with the address where the victim was being held and the vehicle she would be traveling in to New York.
A short time later Sheriff’s deputies located the victim and her boyfriend at a residence in the 500 block of Crownwood Court in Edgewood. The investigation revealed that the victim was in fear of her life due to threats of bodily harm being made by the boyfriend and his accomplices. The victim agreed to return to New York for fear of her family and friends being physically harmed by the boyfriend and his accomplices.
The investigation lead to the arrests of Carl Lawrence Clerk, 22 of 300 block of Lexington Road in Bronx, New York. Novell Teresa Dolly, 18 of 300 block of Green Avenue in Bronx, New York. Vanessa Grinvalski, 16 of 300 block of Green Avenue in Bronx, New York. Grinvalski was waived to adult status and charged accordingly. Clerk was charged with Kidnapping and False Imprisonment. Dolly and Grinvalski were charged with Kidnapping and False Statement. All three subjects received a bond review earlier today. Clerk and Grinvalski are being held in lieu of $100,000 bond. Dolly is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond. The subjects remain incarcerated in the Harford County Detention Center.
