Suspicious Incident Occurs at Joppatowne School

(Joppa, MD – March 21, 2007) — On Tuesday March 20, 2007, shortly after 4:30 pm deputies responded to Riverside Elementary School located at 211 Stillmeadow Drive Joppa, Maryland. Contact was made with the School Principal Creighton Leizear. Mr. Leiziar advised at approximately 3:15 pm, an 8 year old female while playing on the playground during recess, was approached by a female in a vehicle. The female attempted to entice the child into the vehicle; however the child remained with her class and returned inside the school. The child didn’t notify school officials of the incident and later told her father what had occurred after arriving home. The father and the child then returned to the school reporting the incident to Principal Leiziar who notified the Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect is described as a white female with blonde hair, 20-30 years old, who at the time was wearing a pinkish/purple baseball cap. The female was seen sitting in a maroon four door vehicle, possibly a Toyota. The vehicle appeared to be very clean.
