Deputy Receives National Recognition

(Harford County, MD March 13, 2007) — The 16th National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect will recognize Sgt. David Betz for his continued commitment to the Harford County Child Advocacy Center in April during their annual conference held in Portland, Oregon .

Every year the conference recognizes a delegate from each state in attendance for their contribution towards the prevention of child abuse and neglect. This year Sgt. David Betz has been selected to receive the 2007 Commissioner’s Award through the Maryland Chapter of the Administration on Children, Youth and Families.

Sgt. David Betz is a 19 year veteran with Harford County Sheriff's Office and has spent the last 9 years assigned to the Harford County Child Advocacy Center. As the program manager for the Child Advocacy Center, Sgt Betz oversees the daily operations of the center that includes interaction with members from Child Protective Services, Harford County States’ Attorney’s Office, and investigators from Federal Bureau of Investigation, Maryland State Police, and Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

Commenting on Sgt. Betz’s national recognition Colonel Greg Carlevaro stated “For years we have all watched as Sgt. Betz quietly performed his duties with passion and pride. His positive work ethic coupled with his never ending commitment is a tribute to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, Harford County Child Advocacy Center, and the citizens of Harford County. Congratulations to Sgt. David Betz”.
