Middle River Man Murdered

Victim Shot Multiple Times

(Edgewood , MD – January 1, 2007) — Shortly after 11:00 p.m. Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a shooting in the 400 block of Meadowood Drive, where an unidentified caller reported a man had been shot.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies found the victim, identified as Walter Antonio Overton, 21 of Middle River located lying in a flower bed. The victim was found just outside a residence in the 400 block of Meadowood Drive. Overton was observed to be unconscious with several gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

The victim was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel from the Joppa – Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company and transported by ambulance to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air where he was pronounced dead.

There are currently no suspects in the homicide. Investigators with the Harford County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation. Additionally, Harford County Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for committing the crime.
