Mare Found Dead by Owners

Horse Sustained Single Gunshot to Abdomen

Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating the death of a 10 year old mare found by the owners on December 27, 2006.

The mare named “Joline” was found shortly before 7 p.m. in a pasture behind the family home in the 3000 block of Sandy Hook Road in Street. Investigation revealed that the mare sustained a single gun shot wound to the left abdomen. At this point it is unknown if the gunshot was intentional or the result of a hunting mishap.

Upon the owners discretion the horse will be transported to a veterinarian hospital in Oxford Pennsylvania for a necropsy.
