Deputies Investigate Assault and Shooting in Perryman

Both Incidents Occurred Outside Perryman VFW

(Aberdeen, MD – November 26, 2006) - - Harford County Sheriffs Deputies are investigating the assault of a 24 year-old Edgewood woman and shooting of a 21-year-old man from Havre de Grace which occurred early Sunday morning. The two separate but related incidents, took place shortly before 2:00 a.m. outside the VFW located in the 200 block of Spesutia Road near Aberdeen.

Rondale Clarence Guy, 21, of Havre de Grace sustained two wounds, one from a gunshot to the head, the other to his abdomen. He was initially treated at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace and later was transferred to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. The injuries to Rondale Guy are not considered to be life threatening.

The 24 year-old female was assaulted when she was leaving the VFW and attempted to intervene to stop a fight. She was punched in the face, and sustained a laceration from an unknown object to her left leg just above the knee. Shortly thereafter, the victim left the scene of the altercation and proceeded home.

Upon arrival at her home in Edgewood, the victim and members of her family assessed the injury to her leg and determined it required emergency medical attention. Family members transported the victim to the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air where she was treated and released.

The identity of the female is not being released, as she may be a witness to the shooting.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is continuing the investigation of both incidents. Anyone with information is urged to contact investigators at 410-836-5428.

Additionally Harford County Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the assault and the shooting. To be eligible for the reward, tipsters must call the 24-hour tip-line at 1-888-540-TIPS. Callers do not have to give their name nor appear in court. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
