Two Dead Following Head On Collision

One Remains Hospitalized at Shock Trauma

(Aberdeen, MD – November 9, 2006) — Two people are dead and one remains hospitalized following a head-on accident Wednesday evening near Aberdeen. The crash occurred shortly before 7:00 p.m. in the 600 block of Stepney Road.

Witnesses reported that the collision occurred when a 1995 Ford Explorer operated by Mary Elizabeth Coale, 22, of Darlington, traveling south on Stepney Road crossed the center lines and struck a 1998 GMC Suburban driven by Edward Eugene Myers, 42, of Aberdeen. Coale and Myers were both transported to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

Coale’s two-year old daughter, a passenger in the Ford Explorer, was transported to Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace and died a short time later. Myers succumbed to his injuries following surgery at Shock Trauma and died late Wednesday night.

No other injuries were reported.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit is continuing the investigation into the cause of the accident.
