Five Arrested for Disorderly Conduct Following Altercation
30 Deputies and Troopers Quell Disturbance
(Edgewood, MD – October 23, 2006) — Harford County Sheriff's Deputies and Maryland State Police responded Sunday, October 22, 2006 for a fight call in the 1400 block of Harford Square Drive in Edgewood. The incident was reported shortly before 11:00 p.m.
Upon arrival at the scene, Sheriff’s Deputies and Troopers observed a large group of 50 or more people irate and yelling profanities. Some individuals instigated several fights among the assembled crowd.
Sheriff’s Deputies and Troopers made several unsuccessful attempts to quell the disturbance with the presence of a police K-9 and verbal commands. However, the crowd of unruly individuals continued to yell and act disorderly.
Five adults were arrested for disorderly conduct, two by the Maryland State Police and three by Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies. During the arrest, Sheriff’s Deputies had to used Taser’s to subdue suspects in order for officers to affect the arrest without injury to the suspect or the officers.
Those arrested by the Sheriff’s Office were: Martez Anthony Jenifer, 22, Markeya Chanell Jenifer, 27 and Tracy Banks, 29. Markeya Jenifer resides on Bush Road in Abingdon. Martez Jenifer and Banks reside on Meadowood Drive in Edgewood. All three were released on personal recognizance.
