Three Threatened During Home Invasion in Edgewood

Two Suspects Remain at Large

(Edgewood, MD – October 18, 2006) — The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion which occurred Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the Edgewood Park Apartments in Edgewood. The incident occurred in the 2300 block of Hanson Road at approximately 11:00 p.m.

The victims identified as Robert A. McCellan, 19, Derick J. Aguayo, 21, and Chelsea R. Brown, 18, reported the home invasion and armed robbery to the Southern Precinct at approximately 2:00 a.m. this morning. None of the victims were injured.

The victims stated that at 11:00 p.m. there was a knock at the door to their apartment. When they opened the door, two black males forced themselves into the apartment with a shotgun. The suspects demanded the victims take off their clothing and empty their pockets. The suspects stole one pair of sweatpants, a cell phone and wallet from one of the victims. The value of property taken was less than $500.

Prior to leaving the suspects fired one round from the shotgun into the ceiling and then fled in an unknown direction of travel.

The suspects were described as two black males, one wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, the other wearing a white long sleeve shirt. No further description was provided and the victims advised they were unfamiliar with either of the suspects.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is conducting an investigation of the incident. Anyone with information should contact investigators at 410-836-5437. Additionally, Harford County Crime Solvers is offering a tip reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the persons responsible for this home invasion and armed robbery. To be eligible for the reward, tipsters must call the 24-hour tip-line at 1-888-540-TIPS. Callers do not have to give their name or testify in court. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
