Suspect Sought For Attempted Abduction

(Bel Air, Md. – September 19, 2006) — Harford County Sheriff's Deputies are looking for a suspect in connection with an attempted abduction of a 16 –year-old female from the Churchville Snowball Stand. The incident occurred shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2006.

The victim, an employee at the snowball stand, reported she was approached by a white male, approximately 70 years of age, 5’ 10” tall, weighing 200 lbs, with white hair. The suspect is also described as having a pot/beer belly enlarged stomach, comb-over style haircut, large bulbous nose, a droopy left eye and droopy left lower lip.

The man purchased a snowball from the victim and then grabbed her wrist and attempted to forcibly remove her from the stand. When the suspect was unable to abduct the victim from the stand, he fled in an unknown direction in a Honda Odyssey mini-van.

Although shaken by the suspect’s actions, the victim was not seriously injured.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office and the Harford County Child Advocacy Center are seeking information as to the identity and whereabouts of the suspect. Persons with information should contact the Child Advocacy Center at 410-638-3294. Additionally, Harford County Crime Solvers is offering a tip reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. To be eligible for the reward, tipsters must call the 24-hour tip-line at 1-888-540-TIPS. Callers do not have to give their name or appear in court. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
