Sheriff’s Deputies Investigate Home Invasion and Assault in Edgewood

Four Injured in Attack

(Edgewood, Md. – September 14, 2006) — Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a home invasion, assault and attempted robbery which occurred early today in Edgewood. The incident was reported shortly before 1:00 a.m. at the home of William Charles Preston on Carroll Avenue.

Four occupants of the home were assaulted and sustained various head and facial injuries. One victim was transported to Shock Trauma; a juvenile was transported to the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Unit in Baltimore, while the other two victims were transported to the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air for treatment. None of the injuries are believe to be life threatening.

Investigators are looking for four to five individuals who rushed into the home with handguns. One of the suspects was a white male, with short-cropped hair, neatly groomed facial hair, dark tee shirt and blue jeans. The other suspects are black males who had their face covered. The suspects are believed to be 25 – 28 years of age.

During the assault, one of the suspects fired at least one round from his handgun. The round did not strike any of the occupants or suspects.
