Probe Continues into Home Invasion and Armed Robbery

Suspects Fled with Numerous Firearms

(Whiteford, Md. – September 6, 2006) — Investigators with the Harford County Sheriff's Office are continuing their probe of yesterday’s home invasion and armed robbery in northern Harford County. The incident was reported to the Sheriff’s Office at approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2006.

Four unidentified black males entered the home of Fred Arnold Ledford, 75, located in the 3900 block of Tabernacle Road. After assaulting the elder Ledford and his son Arnold Andrew Ledford, 41, the four bandits took cash from both victims and escaped with more than a dozen handguns, shotguns and rifles.

Both victims sustained injuries to the head and face and were treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel from the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company. Neither victim was hospitalized.

The suspects fled in a silver Acura, four-door sedan with Delaware registration. The driver was wearing a camouflage hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information regarding the crime is urged to contact the Harford County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division at 410-836-5408. Additionally, Harford County Crime Solvers is offering a tip reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the persons responsible for the home invasion and armed robbery. To be eligible for the reward, tipsters must call the 24-hour tip-line at 1-888-540-TIPS. Callers do not have to give their name and do not have to appear in court. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
