Suspects Sought in Armed Robbery and Home Invasion

Father and Son Assaulted by Intruders

(Whiteford, Md. – September 6, 2006) — Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a home invasion and armed robbery which occurred Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at approximately 4:30 p.m. The incident occurred at the home of Fred Arnold Ledford, age 75, located in the 3900 block of Tabernacle Road near Whiteford in northern Harford County.

The suspects allegedly struck the elder Ledford and then secured him in the living room area of the mobile home. A short time later, Arnold Andrew Ledford, 41, son of Fred Ledford, entered his father’s home and was immediately assaulted by the suspects and then secured. Arnold Ledford summoned Sheriff’s Deputies after he freed himself and fled to a neighbors home to call police.

Although both Fred Ledford and his son were assaulted with an unknown type of weapon, neither victim was hospitalized.

The suspects described as four black males, fled from the home after stealing several firearms and an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects were seen leaving the area in a Silver Acura four-door sedan with Delaware registration. The suspects escaped from the area on Susquehanna Hall Road and were last seen headed north.

The investigation of the armed robbery and home invasion is being conducted by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with information regarding the crime is urged to contact investigators at 410-836-5408.
