Edgewood Man Assaulted in Armed Robbery/Carjacking

Stolen Vehicle and Suspects Still at Large

(Edgewood, Md. – July 28, 2006) — Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating an armed robbery / carjacking that occurred in the 500 block of Crownwood Court in Edgewood. The incident occurred shortly before 4:00 AM on Friday, July 28, 2006 when the victim, Eric Robles, 31, parked his vehicle and was walking toward his residence.

Prior to reaching his home, Robles was confronted by two black males of average height and weight wearing bandanas covering their faces. One of the males displayed a gun and a fight ensued with Robles being struck in the head several times with the gun causing him to fall to the ground. The two suspects then removed an undisclosed amount of US Currency and personal items from the victim including his vehicle keys. The suspects then fled the area in the victim’s gold color four door 1990 Nissan Maxima displaying Maryland registration plate 9BSF54. Once the suspects left the scene, Robles was able to stagger to a nearby residence and call 911.

Criminal investigators with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office are continuing the investigation of the assault. Anyone with information regarding the possible identity of the suspects involved or the whereabouts of the stolen 1990 Nissan Maxim are urged to contact investigators at 410-836-5437. Additionally, Harford County Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the persons responsible for this crime. Tipsters must call the 24-hour tip-line at 1-800-540-TIPS to be eligible for the reward. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
