Sheriff’s Deputies Investigate Malicious Destruction of Mailboxes

(Bel Air, Md. – July 27, 2006) — The Harford County Sheriff's Office is investigating the malicious destruction and vandalism of nearly 30 mailboxes at homes in the north Harford area. The majority of incidents occurred during the weekend of July 21 – 23. All of the incidents occurred during late evening or early morning hours.

Residents on Holly Cross Drive, North Bend Road, Boxwood Road, Northcliff Drive and West Bend Road contacted the Sheriff’s Office earlier this week to report damage to their property. Damage associated with these incidents is estimated at $3,000.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact the Harford County Sheriff's Office Northern Precinct at 410-692-7880. Additionally, Harford County Crimes Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for these crimes. To be eligible for the reward, tipsters must call the 24-hour tip-line at 1-888-540-TIPS. Persons do not need to give their name or appear in court to be eligible for the reward.
