One Dead and One Wounded in Two Shootings in Harford County
Alleged Suspect Kills Himself at Friends Home
(Darlington, Md.) – May 21, 2006) — Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies are currently investigating a mysterious shooting which occurred early this morning. Larry Randal Bank, 50, of the 3700 block of Love Road in the Darlington area of Harford County, was shot multiple times during an early morning altercation with a known assailant. The incident was reported at approximately 6:39 a.m.
The victim was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel from the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company and then airlifted by Maryland State Police med-e-vac helicopter to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Bank who was shot several times underwent surgery at Shock Trauma and is listed in critical condition.
Shortly after the shooting, the suspect, a 48 year-old male who resided in the 3000 block of Lochary Road near Bel Air, went to the home of friend located in the 1600 block of Poole Road in Darlington where he allegedly confessed to shooting Bank and then committed suicide by firearm.
Criminal investigators with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office believe the attempted murder of Bank was related to an on-going personal feud between the victim and his assailant.
The identity of the suspect and suicide victim is not being released until family members have been notified.
The investigation of the attempted murder and apparent suicide of the alleged shooter is continuing.
