Two Juveniles Charged in Connection to Bomb Threat

(Bel Air, Md. – January 31, 2006) — Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies have charged two juveniles in connection to a bomb threat and false report of a rape. The juveniles, ages 14 and 15 respectively were arrested Monday evening. Both boys have been released to the custody of their parents.

The 15 year-old youth was charged with two counts of telephone misuse and one count of making a terroristic threat. Investigators allege that the suspect telephoned 911 and made a bomb threat pertaining to Joppatowne High School. Less than a minute later, the suspect allegedly called 911 again to report a rape on Harford Square Drive in Edgewood. Both calls were made from the suspect’s cell phone shortly after 7:00 p.m.

The 14 year-old subject was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with the Harford County Public School system is continuing the investigation of a series of bomb threats regarding Joppatowne High School last week. Investigators have not determined if the bomb threat Monday evening is related to the threats received last week.
