Vehicles Damaged at Schaeffer & Strominger

(Bel Air, Md. – January 10, 2006) — Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating the malicious destruction of property involving several trucks at Schaeffer & Strohminger Dodge of Bel Air. The incident occurred sometime between 9:00 p.m. Monday evening and 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the car dealership located in the 1800 block of Bel Air Road.

A deputy sheriff on routine patrol early Tuesday morning discovered the incident when he observed a pickup truck overturned on the parking lot of Schaeffer & Strohminger Dodge of Bel Air. Upon further investigation deputy sheriff’s discovered a total of six 2006 model Dodge pickup trucks had been heavily damaged by a Caterpillar backhoe located on the property.

Total property damage has not been determined, but damage to the six vehicles was extensive.

Investigators believe an unknown person gained access to the backhoe and used it to push several of the vehicles into one another, and in one instance, push a vehicle onto its side.

No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information regarding the malicious destruction of property at Schaeffer & Strohminger Dodge of Bel Air is asked to contact investigators with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office at 410-838-6600. Additionally, Harford County Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for this crime. Tipsters must call the 24-hour tip-line at 1-888-540-TIPS to be eligible for the reward. Callers do not have to give their name or appear in court.
