Armed Robbers Strikes Joppa and Fallston Businesses

(Bel Air, Md. – January 4, 2006) — Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating two armed robberies, which occurred Tuesday night in the Joppa and Fallston areas of the county. The first armed robbery occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m. at the Silver Spur Western Store located in the 500 block of Pulaski Highway in Joppa. Approximately four hours later at 10:18 p.m., a gunman robbed the Fallston Shell gas station located in the 2400 block of Belair Road in Fallston.

No injuries were reported during either robbery.

Tuesday evening’s armed robbery of the Fallston Shell gas station was the third such robbery to occur at that location in the past two weeks. The gas and go food mart was also robbed a few days before Christmas and on January 1, 2006 as well.

The suspect in both robberies is described as a white male, approximately 5’ 6” – 5’ 8” tall. In both incidents the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from the employees. The suspect fled from the Silver Spur in a late 1980’s model Chevrolet. The suspect from the Fallston Shell station fled on foot towards Belair Road. It is not known if the same individual committed the robberies.

The Criminal Investigation Division of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the investigation. Anyone with information regarding either armed robbery is urged to contact the sheriff’s office at 410-838-6600.

Additionally, Harford County Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for these robberies. Tipsters must call the 24-hour tip line at 1-888-540-TIPS to be eligible for the reward. Callers do not have to give their name or appear in court.
