School Policing Unit
The School Policing Unit is responsible for assisting with the security and alcohol/drug awareness programs within the County High Schools and Middle Schools. It is also responsible for the School Crossing Guards at several Harford County Public Schools. The Unit was formed in 1998 as a result of a Department of Justice U.H.P. grant. The unit is comprised of a Sergeant, a Corporal, and seven deputies. Members of the Unit will also assist local Community Councils regarding juvenile matters and are responsible for conducting the Youth Academy during the summer.
